Rose Stalberger

Obituary of Rose Stalberger

Mom was tired and went to be with Dad and the Lord on April 29th, 2010. She was born on November 22nd, 1922 in Spring Creek Township, Minnesota to Bernard & Theresia Meyer. Mom was raised in the Ogema Minnesota area and then married the neighbor boy, Melvin Stalberger, on October 17th, 1944. They raised six children on their small grain & dairy farm. Mom & Dad moved to Othello Washington in 1978 to start their semi-retirement years. Mom took great pride in her flowers and whenever you went to visit, it always included a walk around the yard to see what new flowers were coming up, or what was currently blooming. She shared dad's joy for the garden and loved to share the abundance of their crops with family, neighbors and friends. Mom learned how to crochet during her retirement years and numerous colorful Afghans were made with her precious hands. She would never pass up an opportunity to play cards when family gathered. Mom was preceded in death by her husband Melvin of 65 years, her parents Bernard & Theresia Meyer, and her brothers Peter Meyer and Victor Meyer. She is survived by her children, Diane (Vince) Schouviller of Othello, WA; Duane (Janell) Stalberger of Ogema, MN; Sharon (Mike) Haverkamp of Pasco, WA; Shirley (Dean) Shank of Pasco, WA; Lois (Jay) Weise of Othello, WA; Gary (Tami) Stalberger of Bismark ND, twelve grandchildren and eleven great grand children, along with two sister-in-laws, Alvina Meyer of Detroit Lakes, MN and Betty Meyer of Grand Rapid, MN. A Memorial Service will be held on May 2nd, 2010 at Coventry Assisted Living in Othello at 2:00 P.M. There will also be a Memorial Service in Ogema Minnesota at the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on May 29thh, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.
