Norma Wall, 88, was born Oct. 8, 1935 in Jochin, West Virginia. She passed away June 9th, 2024 in Cheney, WA. She worked in a spud plant in Warden, WA for several years and in 1968 started working for the Lind School District as the head cook. After 32 years she retired but remained a fill-in for the next 14 years. She loved kids so much, which is why she enjoyed her job so well. She was loved by every one of them and will be missed by many more. Norma was preceded in death by both of her parents, Walter and Golda Smith, and her husband, Ken Wall. She is survived by two daughters, Mickie Stanley, Lind, Vickie Navarette,Cheney, two sons, Rubben (Debbie) Labes, Lind, and Lyle Labes, Moses Lake; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. There will be a Grave-Side service only on July 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lind Cemetery with a potluck afterwards at the Lind Lions Club Building. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the Umpqua Bank in Ritzville to help purchase a bench that will sit outside the school lunch room in honor of Norma.
