Obituary of Robert O'Neil
O'Neil, Robert F. (Age 88), Passed away in Ritzville January 30, 2011. He was born July 2, 1922 in Spokane to George and Grace O'Neil. He graduated high school in Almira and then entered the Navy Sea Bees during WWII. After the war, Bob worked on the Grand Coulee Dam for two years and the returned to the family farm in Almira where he worked the remainder of his life. He was a member of VFW, Highland Grange, St Henry Catholic Church; was a Backcountry Horseman and a member of the Ridge Rider Riding Club. He spent many years volunteering for the Lincoln County and other 4-H groups. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Schultheis in 2007, after 59 ½ years of marriage; Sons: Dan and Jim O'Neil. Surviving are daughters: Carol Henson (Ken) of Elk, WA, Mary Lou Casey (Mike) of Almira, WA, Julie Hartz (Bill) of Ritzville, WA, Janet O'Neil of Wilbur, WA and Tammy O'Neil (Jim) of Almira, WA, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The Rosary will be prayed Saturday February 5, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St Henry Catholic Church in Grand Coulee with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will be Monday February 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel in Spokane. Danekas Funeral Home-Ritzville is entrusted with arrangements.
