Kenneth Wayne Gust, 82, of Ritzville Wa, passed away on January 14, 2023.
Ken was born on June 14, 1940 to Alfred and Violet (Kison) Gust in Ritzville, Wa. He graduated from Lind High School in 1960.
After graduating, Ken worked with his father on the family farm in the Ralston area. In 1960, he married the love of his life Sally Lightel. Ken and Sally started their family and went on to have three children, Nancy, Susan and Mike.
After suddenly losing his father at an early age, Ken took on the responsibility of the farm. With the help of his neighbors, he continued a successful farming career until he retired in 2010. In addition to farming, he had a lifelong passion for restoring classic cars. He enjoyed being involved with the Ritzville Classic Car Club.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Violet Gust. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Sally Gust; his children; Nancy Weber, Susan Dewald (Rob) and Michael Gust (Karla); grandchildren; Jennifer Best, Brandon Janzen, Travis Dewald, Stacey Sue Dewald, Jake Dewald (Savannah) and Garrett Gust; great grandchildren; Russell Dewald, Kaileigh Best, Bodhi Best, Olivia Janzen and Coen Dewald.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at Danekas Funeral Home on Friday January 27, 2023 at 11:00am, followed by a reception at the Wheat Grower’s Building. There will be a public viewing on Thursday afternoon January 26, 2023.
