Obituary of Kenneth Mace

Kenneth Gerald Mace was born October 19, 1936, in Gallup New Mexico and died January 7, at his home surrounded by his family. He suffered a long lingering illness but is now at rest waiting for the return of Jesus to waken him and take him home. He married Carolyn Dealy July 1 1956. He loved flying, and after 1 year at Walla Walla University and then A&E School at Community College in Spokane he worked at Flightcraft in Portland, ran Red Carpet Flying Service in Walla Walla as well as a fixed based operation in La Grande Oregon. He taught A&E at the Community College in Spokane for one year. He was a Corporate Pilot and then Equipment manager for Commonwealth Electric Co. both in Walla Walla and then Lincoln Nebraska, before moving to Othello Washington in 1982 where he did Beekeeping and then a Trucking business from the 27 acres they purchased near Othello. He had to retire in 2005 because of ill health. He was a member of the Othello Seventh-day Adventist church where he served as an Elder and Treasurer for many years. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Mace who he married 54 years ago, their children Darla Watts and Claudia Hickman of Tri-Cities, Curtis Mace of Spokane and Carrie Goetz of Denver Colorado, as well as 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, several half sisters and brothers, and many friends. Preceding him in death were his mother Revay Douglass, father Adam Mace, and a brother Leon Palmer. The family has much appreciated the services of Central Basin Home Health and Hospice who so graciously assisted in his care until his death and the Cremation arrangements in the care of Danekas Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating his llife will take place Sunday January 30, 11:00am at the Othello Seventh-day Adventist Church 736 E Elm St. A light lunch will be provided for those attending the service.
