Obituary of Beverly Jeanne Smith

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeanne Smith (92) born in Spokane Wa at St Lukes Hospital on May 8, 1930 to Leroy and Stella Dyer. She was the third child of four to grace the Dyer family. After Jeanne graduated from Sprague High School she married the love of her life John A. Smith on November 14, 1948. They had five children together. Janelle, Jay, Jeri Lee (died at birth), Jeff and Jhan. She was a devoted wife and mother. She moved into town from the farm after John's death and started a daycare in 1963. She adored children. She was known as “Grandma Jeanne” to many. The kids would race to “Grandma Jeanne’s” house after school to have one of her famous homemade snickerdoodle cookies. She enjoyed playing games, reading books, watching Disney movies, and so much more with all these kids. She touched the lives of so many children; the count is unknown. As these children grew and started families, they returned to have “Grandma Jeanne” look after their own children. For nearly 50 years little feet came in and out of her front door. Jeanne’s other love is her grandchildren. She has 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. It takes a village to raise a child and she helped raise the village. Jeanne was loved very much and will be missed by all. Donations can be made to Sprague Fire Department or to St.John's Lutheran Church Sprague, WA
