Obituary of Anthony Cerna

Cerna, Anthony (68) a long time resident of Connell, WA died peacefully at home February 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tony was born in Wapato, WA to Raymond and Socorro Cerna. He graduated from Wapato High where he met and married Sheila Cerna. They moved to Connell, WA in 1963, he was employed with Connell Grain Growers from that time until he retired in 2008. Tony and Sheila have two daughters: Sonya Heinen, and Toni Hoffman (Larry), four grandchildren: Ashley, Kyle, Phillip, Kayla and one great granddaughter Kamilah. He is survived by siblings: Dolores Brunner (Vernon) of Cashmere, Bob Cerna (Ellie) of Bend, OR, Carol Hattersley (Bill), Renton, Susan Noss (Dan) Kennewick, Rebecca Peckham (Don) Battle Ground, Raymond Cerna (Sandy) Bellevue and numerous nieces and nephews. His father and Mother Raymond and Socorro Cerna and nephew Christopher Olney precede him in death. Tony enjoyed hunting with the Blue Mt Hunting group, besides yearly trips to Maui. Tony also liked to work in his garden and yard. Danekas Funeral Home and Crematory is handling Tony's final arrangements with viewing on Monday, February 13th 5-7 p.m. followed by the rosary at the church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Pedro Bautista-Peraza on Tuesday, February 14th at 11:00 a.m.St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Connell, WA.
