Obituary of Rodney Dean Kramer

Rodney D. Kramer, 62, of Ritzville, Washington, passed away on July 29, 2021. He was born on July 21, 1959 to parents George and Lynette (Ferderer) Kramer. He was the second of four children (Courtney, Rodney, Kelly, and Shari). The family resided in Ritzville until 1967 when they moved to Selah. Rodney moved back to Ritzville in 1979. Rodney met Shelley Arp in 1980. They were married on December 7, 1981. Together they raised 3 children: Rodney, Angela, Renee. Rodney worked at Adams County Public Works with the road department. He enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. Over the years, he made many lifelong friendships. After 32 years of service, he retired in 2019. Above all, Rodney loved spending time with family and friends. He never missed a chance to watch his grandchildren’s sporting events or play a game of horseshoes, croquet, bocce ball or pig. He played rugby with his brothers, Courtney and Kelly, on Yakima club teams and for the Lind-Ritzville Rugby Club. He also played softball on numerous teams in Lind and Ritzville. Rodney loved watching football, especially the Rams and Raiders, as well as the Lakers of the 80’s and 90’s. He enjoyed listening to music of various artists (Beatles, Queen and The Rolling Stones) and watching movies. Rodney is survived by his father George (Sue) Kramer, son Rodney (Kelsey) Kramer, daughters Angela (Adam) Miller and Renee (Dustan) Arlt, bonus daughter Aimee Laufer, brothers Courtney and Kelly and sister Shari Muoth, grandchildren Mariah, Makenah, Kacen, Kaiser, Calvin, Paisley, Brielle, Adalyn and Paxton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Lynette Kramer, brother-in-law Rocky Muoth, grandparents Leonard and Martha Ferderer, John and Lydia Kramer and granddaughter Mylah. The family has entrusted Danekas Funeral Home with the arrangements. Services are scheduled for August 7, 2021 at 11:00 am at The American Legion Hall in Ritzville, WA at 106 W Broadway. Stanley Shipley will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please consider financial contributions to the family to help with services.
