Patrick St. Hilaire

Obituary of Patrick St. Hilaire

In the early morning of Thursday April 8, 2021, Patrick Francis St.Hilaire passed away surrounded by family and friends. He fought the good fight, ran the race to the finish and kept the faith. He and his family were residents of Washtucna for 40 years. Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Theresa St.Hilaire, four sons: John, Adam, Keith, and Noah, and two daughters: Anne and Mary Rose. He also leaves behind his daughters- and sons-in-law, and 15 grandchildren whom he truly loved. He is preceded in death by his son, Luke, and his parents Mary and Frank St.Hilaire. Patrick was born on St. Patrick's Day in 1949 at Saint Elizabeth hospital in Yakima, Washington. He was the third eldest in the line of 9 siblings born to Mary and Frank St.Hilaire: Maryann, Karen, Bernadette, Cosmos, Michael, Samuel, Joan, and Charles. Anyone who met Patrick, or spoke to him for even a few minutes, recognized he was a curious, humble, helpful man; one of the last true Boy Scouts. His Catholic faith and his family were the most important things to him. He participated, studied, and avidly strived to understand and love his Lord Jesus Christ. A man of many gifts and hobbies, Patrick was a constant beekeeper, arborist, landscaper, jet airplane enthusiast, Boy Scout leader, amateur astronomer...and the list goes on. By all accounts he instilled this passion for life in his children and grandchildren. Our father has left an indelible mark on his family and community. He taught humility, creativity, love, and strength, usually without using any words and always by example. Dad, your lessons will always be remembered and we ALL will miss you more than we know.
