I just recently heard about Shirley's passing. Bear and I are so sorry and send our deepest condolences to you and your family Susan. So many memories throughout the years we lived in Ritzville. A lot of those from working together at Perkins and always being welcomed for a visit to their home. She was always so welcoming and there was always some coffee and fresh baked goodies. I especially loved a certain coffee cake she would make. She graciously offered her home to Bear and I for our wedding which we gladly accepted. The photo I posted is from the reception which we had at our home. When our son Brent was little he loved to go with me for a visit, not only for the cookies, but he also really liked the owls. One time she gave him a stuffed graduation owl, from one of the bedrooms, and he was fascinated with owls his whole life. He passed in November 2020 and we still have that owl. I am thankful for the friendship we had all those years and for the positive impact Shirley had on my life.
