Obituary of Larry V Swift

Larry Swift passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family on Friday, March 20th, 2020 after a new and aggressive battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held on July 11th at the Ritzville Lions Club Amphitheatre on the Wheat Land Communities’ Fairgrounds from 2-5 p.m. * Larry was born on January 17th, 1954 in Ritzville, Washington where he lived and worked nearly all of his 66 years. His contributions to the lives of many include the years he worked as the Public Works Director for the City of Ritzville, his volunteer efforts for the Ritzville Fire Department, Ritzville Festivals Association, Ritzville Gun Club and many other community organizations. The community lost a pillar, our “Sweetheart” of Ritzville. Larry is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, Christy LaBlanc (Jim), Lori Cedergreen (Eric), and Alan Hille (Lindsey); his six grandchildren, Nicolas, Taylor, Ryder, Ivy May, Holden and Reagann; his brothers and sisters, Dale, David, Greg, Sandy, Pam, and Vicky Swift and their families. He is preceded in death by his mother, Leah Ferderer Swift; and his father, Virgil Swift. Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting and trap-shooting, fishing, camping, and working in his shop. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Larry will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. *** Please join us in celebrating the life of Larry Swift on July 11th at the Ritzville Lions Club Amphitheatre on the Wheat Land Communities’ Fairgrounds from 2-5 p.m. A service will begin at 2:00 followed by a reception where food and drink will be served.
