Bobby Nay

Obituary of Bobby Joe Nay

Heaven's population increased by one on February 7th, 2019, as Bobby Joe Phillips (Nay,) 40, passed away of natural causes at his home in Ritzville, WA.  Bobby was born on November 24, 1978 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho to Shirley (Phillips) Dolan & Richard Nay. He grew up mostly in Spokane Valley where he attended Trentwood Elementary School and later East Valley High School.   He was a member of the Boy Scouts, where he no doubt learned outdoor cooking. One of his favorite things to do was BBQ on a grill and he fancied himself an expert. Bobby was the happiest when spending time with his family doing almost anything, be it for birthdays, holidays or just enjoying their company on an ordinary day.  He loved working with his Grandma Louise training and showing AKC Collies. As a teen, he helped out at a local auto shop where he developed his love of tinkering on anything mechanical.  He especially enjoyed refurbishing bicycles A resident of Ritzville since 2006, Bobby was a sweet soul whose best friend was his cat, Dewey.  They used to watch TV together and listen to his large collection of music.  He was always smiling, and being good-natured, would help anyone who asked him.  Above all, Bobby Joe loved the Lord Jesus as his Savior.  His prize possession was the Bible presented to him by Pastor Buck Garner on the day of his baptism. That was when he used to attend the Baptist Church in Ritzville. Bobby was a charter member of The Collective Adventure, a Christian fellowship in downtown Ritzville where he often volunteered.  Without a doubt he was their most faithful attendee and he will be greatly missed. He never married and had no children but is survived by his mother and step-dad, Shirley & Terry Dolan of Rathdrum, ID; sister, Victoria Sweitzer of Hayden Lake, ID; brother, John Sweitzer of Post Falls, ID; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be held at The Collective Adventure Embassy, 109 W Main Ave, Ritzville, WA.  His memorial is tentatively set for Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.  Condolences can be left on the website for Danekas Funeral Home: www. danekasfh.com  Crowd funding has been set to help with the costs of Bobby's final arrangement at their website as well.  Donations can also be left with Pastor George Smith at the Collective Adventure.  Call (509) 570-6196 or (509) 344-9593 for more information.
