Ann Schuoler

Obituary of Ann Schuoler

Ann Schuoler passed away on Saturday, September 8, surrounded by family at her home in Mill Creek, Washington, after a long illness.  Ann was born in Yakima, Washington on September 10, 1934, the sixth child of Archie and Edith Cockrill Deaver.   She attended Yakima schools and graduated from Yakima High in 1952.  At Yakima High, she met her future husband, Loren Schuoler.  Ann attended Washington State University, and married Loren on January 30, 1954, at the semester break of their sophomore year.  They were happily married for 64 years.  After college, Ann and Loren lived in the communities of Colfax, Steilacoom, and St. John before settling down in Ritzville in 1964, where they lived for 41 years.  They retired to the Seattle area in 2005. A devoted wife and mother, Ann took great pride in being a homemaker.  She was also co-owner in her husband’s pharmacies, including Ritzville Drug.  A life-long music fan of all genres, Ann was a talented pianist and known for her ability to play any song by ear, as long as it was in the Key of C.  She also enjoyed singing in the choir at Emanuel Lutheran Church, of which she was a member during her years in Ritzville. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Edith Deaver, sisters Georgia Dinnetz and Mary Jordan, brothers Wilds and John Deaver, and daughter, Kathleen Schuoler.  She is survived by her husband, Loren, daughter Liz and husband Dan Pritchard of Connecticut, son Jack and wife Heather of Everett, grandsons Timothy Pritchard of Washington, DC, Alec Schuoler of Everett, sister Jane Simmons of Bellevue, and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family graveside memorial will take place in Ritzville on Friday, September 14, and Ann will be laid to rest at the Lutheran Cemetery.   The Schuoler Family will be at the Cow Creek Mercantile Restaurant from 12N – 2PM following the memorial, if anyone wishes to stop by.  Condolences can be left online at www.danekasfh.com, or sent to the Schuoler family home in Mill Creek at this address:  14310 North Creek Drive, Mill Creek, WA.  98012. Donations in Ann’s memory can be sent to the Emanuel Lutheran Church, at 206 S. Division, Ritzville, Washington, 99169.
