Obituary of Judy L Jent

Judy Lee Anderson Jent

Born May 9th, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa, Judy passed away at age 77 on Tuesday February 13th in Spokane Washington. Judy was happily married to and survived by her husband Curt Jent for 36 years. She is also survived by a large blended and extended family of children: Jeanette Reynolds-Cullum, Jennifer Reynolds, Tim Reynolds, Lori Jent, Lee Jent, Phillip Jent, and Jennifer Jent-Weber; Grandchildren and great grandchildren: Ian Lockhart, Duncan Lockhart, Robin Lockhart, Zoey Lockhart, Ellie Steen, India Rahmani, Milan Rahmani, Troy Reynolds, Erin Reynolds, Necole Wieland (+2 children), Chase Jent, Charles Waits (+2 children), Breanna Jent, Audrey Jent-Garcia, Jessica Jent, Madelyn Weber and Kelton Weber. Judy is also survived by her beloved half-sister Barb Watts, and many cousins, nieces and nephews who all loved her very much.

Being an only child to Lois (Goettsch) Hicks and Raymond Victor Anderson of Clinton Iowa, Judy was very happy to be surrounded by a large and loving family in her adult years.

Not only was Judy a kind and compassionate person to everyone around her, she also had a deep and abiding love for animals, having adopted many homeless dogs during her lifetime. In her years living in Ritzville, Judy worked for the Chamber of Commerce and often volunteered with the Senior Center, helping many of her elderly neighbors with driving to doctor appointments and other errands.

Judy proudly worked 22 ½ years for the Washington State Department of Corrections as an accomplished Correctional officer. Prior to this, she held positions as a security officer at Hanford Nuclear Reservation and various retail businesses. All difficult but rewarding work to support her family.

Judy and Curt loved nature and found Sunday drives around the beautiful northwest to be their favorite form of church. In that spirit, a memorial service will be held in the Rose Garden (the location of Curt and Judy’s wedding) at Pioneer Park in Walla Walla, WA on July 18th at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Humane Society in your county. Arrangements handled by Danekas Funeral Home Ritzville, WA.
