Obituary of Terry Jirava

Terry Rae (Geschke) Jirava 1/28/48 - 7/5/13 Terry Rae (Geschke) Jirava, 65, of Ritzville, WA passed away on July, 5, 2013. She was born in Spokane, WA on January 28, 1948 to Robert and Joan Geschke. Terry graduated from Ritzville High School in 1966 and received her high school diploma. She married Wayne Jirava on February 23, 1974. Terry began working at Hands Café as a waitress in Ritzville, and then went on to waitress at Jake's café. Later on she worked at the local Ritzville Bakery, Spike Drive In, Spikes Food Mart and Deli and then finished her career at US Bank. She enjoyed all the people that she met throughout her life and made many good friends along the way. She was very passionate about her family, whether it was family BBQ's at Badger Lake, hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas, or just getting together for a Sunday dinner, she loved family time. Everyone was always welcome at her house. Terry loved cooking, baking and canning when she got a chance. Terry also loved gardening, cross-stitching, sewing, reading books and watching her favorite Nascar driver, all while having her nice cup of hot tea. The greatest joy she had were her grandchildren, Cassie and Hunter. She loved hearing their stories, playing video and board games with them, watching movies and the great hugs and snuggling time. She absolutely adored her gran-babies. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Wayne Jirava of Ritzville, WA; daughter Michelle Jirava (Spokane, WA); three step-sons Ron Jirava (Ritzville, WA), Alan Jirava (Garland,TX), Tracy Jirava (Ritzville, WA); grandchildren Cassie and Hunter Johnson (Spokane, WA), John Jirava (Garland, TX), Justin Jirava (Garland, TX); mother Joan Gering (Ritzville, WA); step-father Martin Gering (Ritzville, WA); brother Rob (Denise) Geschke (Ritzville, WA); nieces Robyn (Cory) Stevens (Spokane, WA); Chrissy (Sam) Lagrou (Spokane, WA); special sister-in-law, Terry (Ron) Abbott (Silver Creek, WA); step-brothers Ron (Karen) Gering (Yakima, WA), Brian (Gail) Gering (Liberty Lake, WA), and Bruce (Patti) Gering (Moses Lake). She was preceded in death by her father Robert L Geschke. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 11, 2013 at 12:00pm - 5:00pm at Danekas Funeral Home Ritzville, WA. Funeral Services will be held at Zion Philadelphia UCC 301 E Broadway Ritzville, WA on Friday July 12, 2013 at 11:00am with Graveside services to follow at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately after the graveside at Zion Philadelphia UCC. Memorial contributions are suggested to the National MS Society in her honor.
