Priscilla Elaine Thompson Burk Obituary

Priscilla Elaine Thompson Burk (75) entered the gates of heaven Monday May 5, 2025.

Priscilla was born to Glenard and Mary Denny on October 26, 1949, the youngest of six children, at Alamosa, Colorado. The family moved to the Willamette Valley when she was about 8. She graduated high school at North Marion High School and attended Conquerors Bible College in Portland Oregon where she met and married Timothy Thompson. Together they had 3 boys: Brent in 1971, Alan in 1973 and Bradley in 1976. In 1978 they moved to California where they spent 10 years and Priscilla worked at the Apostolic Academy in El Sobrante. In 1987 the family moved to the Seattle area. Priscilla spent her working years there primarily at Workskiff and finally retiring in 2012 from The Everett Clinic as Executive Secretary. Tim and Priscilla moved to Ritzville, WA to spend their retirement and be nearer to the youngest of their grandchildren. There Priscilla learned to enjoy golfing and how to enjoy “good” gardening weather. She loved her flowers and spent much of the spring, summer and fall tending to them. Family and faith were her top two priorities. She always made sure there was a big family gathering and way more food than was necessary. She always invited others who may not have been as fortunate to have a loving family for the holidays. Over the years, she adopted many other children and adults into her selected family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

After Tim passed, she married Dorsey Burk and moved to St Louis. There she promptly rekindled old friendships from the CBC days and began forming a selected family of her own. Together, she and Dorsey traveled to Europe and partook in retired missionary events at Branson, MO.

Priscilla was a calm, collected, kind, gentle and loving soul. She loved to laugh and once in a while she might even take a jab and throw a joke. We will forever miss her. Although our souls are sad and hurting, we know she could not stay. Her work on earth was complete and God needed her in his garden.

She is preceded in death by her husband Tim in 2021 and her son Brad in 2024, two sisters: Mary Jean and Kathy, brother Richard (Bud) Denny and niece Anne Marie Garcia.

Survivors include her husband Dorsey Burk, three sons: Brent (Cheryl) Thompson, Alan (Avia) Thompson and Devon (Eulonda) Burk; and daughter Krystin (Kent) Carlson. Two brothers: Lee (Chriss) Denny and Mickey (Elaine) Denny, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and adopted family.
