William Blake Strohmaier
William Blake Strohmaier, known to friends and family as Blake, passed away unexpectedly of an abdominal aortic aneurysm rupture on March 17, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on January 25, 1957, in Spokane, Blake was the third son of Clarence Strohmaier and Lois Ottmar Strohmaier. Blake graduated from Lind High School in 1975. He attended Spokane Community College and earned an AA degree from the Machinist/CNC Technology Program in 1977. His career as a machinist and fabricator led him to work in various machine shops in Spokane, and he later became a self-employed tradesman.
Blake was an avid water skier who enjoyed spending time on Priest Lake and Lake Coeur d’Alene. He also enjoyed huckleberry picking, boating, and classic cars. His passion for hot rods took him to shows in Tennessee and California, and his latest project was a 1956 Ford pickup Street Rod.
In his later years, Blake was a companion to his parents, splitting his life between Spokane and Lind.
Blake is survived by his brothers, Greg (Jan) Strohmaier and Kent (Susie) Strohmaier, numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lois Strohmaier.
