Karl Langenheder (70) passed away March 12th, 2026 surrounded by his family after a tough battle with lung cancer.

Karl was born August 5th, 1955 to Robert and Cynthia Langenheder. He and his sister, Lisa, were raised on the family farm just Northeast of Ritzville. Karl attended Ritzville schools where he was involved in FFA, basketball and baseball. He also served as his Senior Class President and graduated from Ritzville High School in 1974.

Following graduation, Karl attended community college for a short time before deciding on a barber school where he received his certification. After completing barber school, Karl moved to Ephrata where he served the community as a local barber.

Karl later moved back to run the family farm. He met Gail Castle and they married in 1985. Together on the farm they raised son Jeremy and later welcomed a baby girl, Sierra, in 1988. Gail and Karl later divorced and he moved from the family farm.

In 2003, Karl started dating Mary Ryan and had been with her almost 23 years at the time of his passing. Together they had continued to raise his daughter.

In his final years, Karl enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He used his time gardening, walking, and riding his tricycle with his dogs in tow while he was physically able.

Karl is survived by his mother, Cynthia Langenheder; sister, Lisa (Patrick) Stephens; long-time girlfriend Mary Ryan; children Sierra (Josh) Scoles and Jeremy (Emily) Collins; stepchildren Heather Sinor and Harley (Mel) Davis; grandchildren Savannah, Jayde, Joseph, Kagen, Gage C, Alayna and Gage A.

Karl was preceded in death by his father, Robert Langenheder, and his son-in-law Jimmy Sinor. A celebration of Karl’s life is scheduled for March 28th at 1pm at the Washington Wheat Growers in Ritzville for family, friends, and community to share memories of Karl.
