Lowell George Becker, age 90, passed away peacefully with family by his side on

January 28, 2026. He was born on March 22, 1935, to Henry and Luetta Becker in

Ritzville, Washington. He and his siblings, Deanna (Judi), Steve and Susan all grew up in Ritzville. He graduated from Ritzville High School in 1953.

After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. During this time, he met Kathryn Heinzman. They were married in September of 1965. Their son, Steven, was born on March 6, 1967, and their daughter, Helen, was born on July 19, 1971. He retired from the Navy in 1979 and then joined his brother farming in Ritzville in 1980. The family moved to Ritzville in 1981. He decided that farming was not for him and started working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). He retired from WSDOT after 17 years. During his time farming and working for WSDOT, he also worked as an EMT.

Later in life, Kathy and Lowell went their separate ways. He then met Carol Hollenback Proctor. They were married in February of 2006.

During his lifetime, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Fishing, gardening and sharing his goodies with his friends and family was always a blessing to him. He and Carol spent as much time as they could fishing and in their camper at Fishtrap Resort.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Carol, son Steven L. Becker and grandson Jonathan Kenyon.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Patrick Kenyon, grandsons, Brandon Becker and Devon Kenyon. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Judi and Leroy Kessler, brother Steve Becker, sister and brother-in-law Susan and Harold (Bud) Kirkendall, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held in early Spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gritman Senior Center in Ritzville or to one’s choice.

Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville is in charge of arraignments.
