Mark Heider Obituary

Mark Heider, a devoted husband, loving father, proud papa, caring son, beloved brother, and loyal friend, passed away on January 27 at the age of 68.

Born on September 17th in Spokane, he lived a life marked by hard work, perseverance, and a deep love for his family. A farmer by trade and at heart, he understood the value of long days, early mornings, and never giving up when life was hard. As the saying goes, “On the eighth day, God looked down on His planned paradise and said, 'I need a caretaker,’ so God made a farmer”. That calling defined his life - steady, selfless, and rooted in purpose.

He was a devoted husband who loved faithfully and worked tirelessly for his family. His marriage was built on commitment, sacrifice, and showing up day after day, no matter how tough the road became. Above all else, he was a family man - a loving father whose guidance and example will live on through his children, and a cherished papa who took great pride in his grandchildren.

His Christian faith was an important part of his life. He believed in God and openly accepted the Lord, placing his trust in Christ. That faith gave him strength through hardships and hope beyond this life.

Life was not always easy for him, but he met it with strength and determination. He faced hardship head-on and continued to fight forward with grit, resilience, and quiet courage. He was also a best friend to many - dependable, honest, and always willing to lend a hand without being asked.

Those who knew him will remember his work ethic, his perseverance, and the way he showed love through actions and words. His life was one of sowing and sacrifice, and the fruit of that life is seen in the family he built and the lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his father Walter Heider. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kim, his children Karlye (Jeremy) Calkins and Amber (Alex) Stephenson, his grandchildren Chloe, Lillian, Sophia, and Riley, and his mother, Marcial Heider, and many other family members and friends who will carry his legacy forward.

A celebration of his life will be held on February 4th at Grace United Community Church in Connell. The church services will begin at 2 pm following a private graveside burial for family members.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he has found rest, peace, and is finally painfree. His faith, love, and strength will continue to guide those who loved him for generations to come.
