Diane Carol Eastman
October 13, 1945 – November 12th 2025
Diane Carol Eastman was born to Bill and Phyllis (Mann) Eastman on October 13, 1945. She attended Sprague and Harrington Elementary Schools and graduated from Harrington High School in 1964, where she became a proud member of the Harrington Alumni Association.
After graduation, Diane attended dental assistant school in Seattle. Upon returning home, she worked for Dr. Bruce Hille before joining the Ritzville School District, where she served as a paraeducator for 22 years—a role she truly loved. Diane was also a Worthy Advisor of the Harrington Rainbow Assembly, a 50-year member of the Oasis Chapter of the Eastern Star, and even served as one of their state officers. A proud moment in her life was becoming a three-gallon donor at the Spokane Blood Bank.
Diane was also a dedicated member of the Washington State Cattlewomen’s Association and graciously hosted seven exchange students over the years. Her creativity shone through her quilting, and she made many beautiful pieces as a member of the Ritzville Peace by Piece Quilters Guild. She was active in both St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sprague and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville, where her faith and friendships flourished.
One of Diane’s great passions was traveling. She and her mother enjoyed a memorable trip to Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. She also traveled with her cousin Jayne Beauchene (Ottmar) and the Yakima Bel Canto Ladies Choir to Australia in 1988. A loyal WSU football fan, Diane was thrilled to travel with her family to Honolulu, Hawaii, to watch the Cougars play in the Oahu Bowl.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Eastman and Phyllis and Art Mann, as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Chris and JoAnn Mann. She is survived by her sister, Gail Heide; her brother, Michael Mann, and his wife, Annie; along with numerous cousins, and her eight beloved nieces and nephews.
Diane’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her best friend, Deborah Shultz (Wagner), and to Gene and Gayle Mann and their family for the love and support they have given to Diane and our family over the years.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Danekas Funeral Home, contributing towards expenses of services for Diane.
