Randall (Randy) Lee Heimbigner
12/7/1950 –7/13/2025
After bravely battling a year-long series of health issues, Randall Lee Heimbigner of Odessa passed peacefully on July 13, 2025, at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane with his sister Barb by his side.
Randy, the second of four children, was born in Spokane on December 7, 1950, to Walt and Dorothy (Schragg) Heimbigner. He grew up in Ritzville, graduating in 1969 from Ritzville High School. After graduation, Randy earned an AA Degree from Yakima Valley College, and, after briefly attending WSU, served in the US Coast Guard in Adak, AK and Galveston, TX.
After Randy returned to the Ritzville area, he and Sandra Stanton were married in Coeur d’Alene, ID in 1992. They made their homes in Benge, Mohler, and then in Ritzville until moving to Odessa in 2010. After a number of years doing work he loved for several farmers, Randy began security work for CF Industries at their Tokio location. Randy and Sandy were avid bowlers; he loved visiting with family, friends, and, yes, strangers, too; and he spent many hours researching family history and ancestry, connecting the past and present. Randy’s later retirement years were spent lovingly caring for his wife Sandy until her passing in 2023 after a long illness.
Randy was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years Sandy, his parents, and his sister Dianne Heimbigner Yeager. He is survived by his sister Barbara Heimbigner, brother Steve, numerous cousins, and many friends.
The last year was a huge struggle for Randy. His doctors and nurses, rehab caregivers and support staff, his community and friends, especially Robert, John, and Pastor Travis, all provided him with wonderful care and compassionate support. For that we will always be grateful.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 9, at Christ Lutheran Church, 602 E Amende Drive in Odessa.
