I do not know Dick on a personal level, however I know his daughter Lynnette who is married to my son Doug and is the mother to our two grandchildren, Courtney and Carter. We all hope to leave a positive legacy when we leave this world and I think that Dick can be very proud of Lynnette and her family. Lynnette looked up to her dad and admired him for his long and successful career with the railroad and most recently the care he provided Guyla during her long illness. Lynnette was hoping to be able to spend more time with her dad yet that did not happen. Lynnette has related early childhood experiences with her dad, mother Jessie, brothers Rob and Tony and twin sister Angie while living in Lind. She was pleased and proud that Dick was there to give her away at her wedding. And it was obvious that he was very proud of his daughter. Dick loved animals and that same love was passed on to Lynnette and now to Courtney. Lynnette's home is filled with pets who always welcome visitors with licks and nudges. His legacy will live on through his six children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There is no doubt his presence will be missed.
